The water filling system comprises of the various activities and processes involved in running the treated water through different channels and transferring same into designated bottles. An indispensable equipment in the water filling system is the water filling machine which comprises of the profiles from the storage to the nozzles.

 

However, the reception of water from the point of supply to the packaging plant must be done in a material suitable for contact with food, such as stainless steel, some plastic materials, etc. In any case, the reception must be inspected, closed, continuous and fully protected against possible contamination.

Bottled water filling

 

Filling:

 

Here, the treated water is made to run from the storage through different lines to the bottles. In most cases, the water is dispensed through nozzles. However, the containers or bottles used in the filling process vary in their component materials, for example, the plastic containers/bottles and the glass bottles; and in their sizes/volumes. For example, there are the small to large sized plastic bottles. One of the large volume bottles include the 5 gallon bottles. Also, the identity of the water filling machines are, in some cases, determined by the type and volume of the bottles, as we have in the 5 gallon barreled water filling machines.

 

Also, the size of the bottle mouths or openings determine the type of filling nozzle to be used in the filling machine. However, the number of nozzles vary and depends on the size of the bottled water filling machine. 

 

However, the filling is done without any air flow since this can interfere with the bacteriological quality of the water mainly.

 

The capping process

 

After the filling of the bottles is completed, the bottes containing specific volumes of water are capped. Capping involves placing of plastic covers and fastening same on the bottle mouth. It is done to seal the container and to keep the water content safe for consumption.

 

During the capping process, the performance of the capper and sealer must be monitored and the filled containers must be visually or electronically inspected, to ensure that they have been properly sealed and sealed. Containers that are not satisfactory should be reprocessed or rejected. Non-toxic containers, caps and seals must be used. All containers, caps and seals must be sampled and inspected to ensure they are free from contamination.

 

Labeling and final packaging

 

After the bottles have undergone the filling and packaging phases, the next phase is the labeling. This is important for marketing as it provides information about the manufacturer and other relevant information that will promote the market.

 

After labeling, the bottles are wrapped and packaged into crates or pallets depending on the manufacturing industry.

 

Water is a delicate product and sensitive to organoleptic alterations, so the bottled water filling machines or lines are designed to guarantee extremely high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
